WHY WILL I LOVE DISNEY’S WILDERNESS LODGE?

Question:  Why Will I Love Disney’s Wilderness Lodge?

Answer:  This breathtaking resort offers an ambiance like no other resort on Walt Disney World property!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  You are officially here!  You have arrived at your resort!  Youand I have spent months of planning and organizing!  Did you make the right decisions?  Did you read as much as you could?  I am sure you have done just that!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is the presence of greatness when it comes to resorts.  This deluxe resort is a grand lodge nestled within pine trees, foliage and peacefulness, settled on a 450 acre natural lake.  It’s winding sidewalks stamped with animal tracks, wooden rocking chairs in front of the roaring fireplace, soft leather seating and the simple appreciation for the great outdoors is mesmerizing.   I guarantee your jaw will drop when you walk through the front door.  Be sure to have your camera near by!  You will forget about the hustle and bustle of theme parks while you are here!  Now, why should you stay here and what does the lodge have to offer?

Let’s Begin!

The Lodge… This is the place my family likes to call HOME!  The lodge is so inviting.  You enter the doors to a grand lobby, a towering 8 story fireplace, wooden rocking chairs and logs of every shape and size.  Hidden Mickey’s encompass in corners and even in plain sight.  Here you will experience top-notch service, luxurious accommodations, and detail at its finest!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is located within the Magic Kingdom resort area.  This makes it very accessible to many resorts and of course the ever popular, Magic Kingdom theme park.

Transportation is by bus to the theme parks and Downtown Disney Areas.  Boat transportation is a plus for my family!  There is NOTHING like a boat ride (water taxi) back to your resort after a long day of play at the Magic Kingdom!  Plus, you never know what you will see floating in the lagoon, lake or by the boat dock.  We have seen birds, fish and even alligators!  This boat transportation also will take you to the Contemporary Resort (exquisite dining including:  The Wave, California Grill and the kids favorite, Chef Mickey’s).  The boat transportation will also take you to Disney’s Fort Wilderness and Campground (subject to change per Disney's discretion).  Here there are an amazing array of activities.  These include:  The dinner show:  Hoop Dee Doo Music Review, a petting zoo, carriage rides, horseback riding and much more! Dining at the resort is fantastic.  The Roaring Fork is your quick service area.  It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a large variety to choose from.  This is where you can refill your mugs or snack on the amazing magic cookie bar dessert!  Whispering Canyon’s Cafe is also located within Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.  Here you can enjoy a table service meal.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at this location.  I highly recommend the family skillet at breakfast!  It is amazing.  The dinner menu carries an all you can eat platter filled with amazing selections, including many barbecue items!   Artist Point is not to be missed for an evening of character dining with some of your favorites. These can include Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen (subject to change).  Our experience here was fantastic!

Rooms are impeccable and refurbished constantly to keep the “Disney feel” to them!  I am fussy when it comes to cleanliness!  Disney’s Wilderness Lodge does not disappoint in this area!  Rooms are exceptionally clean!  Mousekeeping does an amazing job here!  Rooms are approximately 340 sq. feet and three views are available!    We love the Fireworks View guest rooms in the North Wing.  If you are lucky you can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom from your balcony!  I can’t put the feeling into words!  It’s awesome, the view is spectacular and it is the most relaxing part of vacation!   Concierge rooms are also available to guests!

Get ready!  The recreation list is long!  :o)   This resort has so many offerings to its guests!  Pools, pool parties, hot tubs, bike rentals, surrey bike rentals, Cub’s Den for the kids, motorized boat rentals, sailboat rentals, fishing, movies under the stars, jogging trails, playground fun, Button and Bells Arcade, Wilderness Lodge campfire activities and access to the beach to watch the Electric Water Pageant from Geyser Point! Wilderness Lodge is also home to Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Boulder Ridge Villas so this offers even more amentities to your stay!   Your family will always be able to find something to do!  In fact, you may not want to leave!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge keeps my family coming back for more, year after year!  This is our top choice when we are planning our trips to Walt Disney World.  Totem poles, tee pee chandeliers, Hidden Mickey’s, the roaring fireplace, the amazing pools and food.  The quiet, peaceful, serenity that you experience here is unimaginable.  You leave the hustle and bustle of the parks and walk into a new world at this lodge!  It is definitely one of the best themed resorts on Disney property and it is not to be missed!  There are so many offerings at the lodge.

Quick Tips:

Purchase a Fireworks View guest room and request the North Wing top floor. 

Enjoy and few minutes to sit in front of the fireplace and in the squishy leather chairs.  Enjoy the ambiance of this resort, even if only for a small amount of time!  You will appreciate it more then you know!  :o)

Stay at the Lodge during Christmas time!  In my opinion, it is the best decorated and most breathtaking resort during the holidays!

Explore this resort!  You will find sitting areas, balconies to sit on, coves to relax in, watch the geyser, ask for a hidden mickey checklist, and finally, ask one of the water taxi cast members to point out the bear face on the resort!

Most of all, enjoy!  This resort is an experience unto itself!
